NFS fails to mount after reboot for ESXI 5.5U1

Recently I have come across issue, where fresh install or upgrade to ESXi 5.5.U1 fails to mount NFS datastore after reboot ( we have to mount NFS manually after every reboot ) .  As of now I am not sure what is root cause of this issue.

Resolution for now is , if you are using STP ( Spanning Tree protocol ) on physical switch to which ESXi host connect, then enable Port Fast on it. Here is KB which suggest that we need to have Port Fast enabled , if we are using STP Enable Port Fast

Let me know if yo have any question on this.

Share and Enjoy !!

      Hello ,

Thank you for mention in your blog. You are right, this is not NFS PAD issue which is currently hot among VMware Users. This is something new seen in VMware 5.5U1.
